Boer Goats

G04 Violet and Dallas

Boer Goats, as the name implies, hail from South Africa (Boer is the Afrikaans word for “Farmer”).  Boers are stocky, sturdy, and well-muscled animals that grow quickly - an adult male can reach 350 lbs - yet they have a quiet, gentle personality that melds well with our farm.  We currently have five Fullblood and American Purebred Boer breeding does, and all are registered with the American Boer Goat Association.  We normally plan our kiddings for the Spring, and you can find any goats we may have available on our “For Sale" page.

Our flock is CAE negative and is tested annually.

Our children manage and care for the herd and show selected stock at the Hopkinton State Fair each year.  They are responsible for the breeding and management plan, including purchasing bucks or does to implement that plan, care, cleaning, feeding, grooming, showing, and marketing.  They also are our webpage administrators.

"Do you know when the mountain goats give birth? Do you watch when the doe bears her fawn?  Do you count the months till they bear? Do you know the time they give birth?  They crouch down and bring forth their young; their labor pains are ended.  Their young thrive and grow strong in the wilds; they leave and do not return.” - Job 39:1-4
